Last night John had a dream. In this dream he was in Washington D.C. at a Military Parade March. The street was very wide – “a regular thoroughfare, a very wide highway”, John said. He could see the White House and Congressional building. He could see the Lincoln Memorial, the Vietnam Memorial – all the memorials. The buildings and memorials were all very white and clean as if they were brand new, and looked as marble. Their condition was not as pre-planned and prepared for the parade, yet this was simply the condition of the place. There was no stress or pretense. John could see everything at once while standing on that wide street. It was lined with a massive crowd of people there to witness the parade. It was as if everyone in America was there, and it was a jubilant crowd – everyone was happy.
As the Military Parade was passing by John noticed rakes and shovels, in place of missiles and rockets, in the launch tubes. Rakes and shovels were laying on the beds of the trailers where rockets would normally lie. The marching Soldiers were carrying brooms in place of guns. In fact, there wasn't a gun in sight. The street was empty, except for the parade, which seemed endless. The bristles of the brooms laid in the Soldiers hands during the march, as the broom handles laid across their shoulders. John noticed a government official standing next to him. He wore an official pin on the lapel of his dark suit trench jacket. Although the noise of the crowd was so deafening that one could not hear the sounds of the parade tanks and trucks, John yelled and asked the official, “What’s up with all the rakes and shovels where the missiles and rockets usually are?”. The government official smiled at John and said, in a normal tone of voice – he did not yell as John had to yell, yet John could hear him as clear as day - “We want to present a different image to the world.” It was at this point John awoke from his dream. He awoke comforted with the understanding that no matter what trials we endure now, in a realm that is already established there is (will be) no more war and fighting, and everything is (will be) clean, fresh, and new.
“He shall judge between the nations,
and shall decide disputes for many peoples;
and they shall beat their swords into plowshares,
and their spears into pruning hooks;
nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war anymore.” Isaiah 2:4
“God says: In the last days I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your young men will see visions. Your old men will have special dreams.” Acts 2:17
