It's Not Fair
I have seen posts on Christian persecution not being reported in the news. Many Christians are indignant. Really? Do these not believe the Bible when it says that if you love and follow Jesus Christ, the world will hate you as it hates Him? Or that what we do for the Lord, let it be done quietly? If one receives their recognition and reward here, and now, they shall not receive it later from the Heavenly Father. That includes the need to be recognized in the world news. If the Follower of Christ is treated unfairly by the world, why are they, then, surprised? Why would the follower of Christ be indignant?
2 Timothy 2:12 "Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution."
John 15:17 “I command these things to you, that you may love one another. 18 If the world hates you, you know that it has hated me before it hated you. 19 If you were of the world, the world would love its own. But because you are not of the world, since I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. 20 Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his lord.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will keep yours also. 21 But all these things will they do to you for my name’s sake, because they don’t know him who sent me."
Matthew 10:38 "He who doesn’t take his cross and follow after me, isn’t worthy of me. 39 He who seeks his life will lose it; and he who loses his life for my sake will find it."
The Cross is a brutal undertaking. Don't expect popularity with the World. We are here to please the Father, in accord with him, and in obedience to His Word. It is not a popularity contest. Expect persecution. Remember John 12:25 tells us that "He who loves his life will lose it. He who hates his life in this world will keep it to eternal life."
